Privacy
Wild Cavoodles exists to get lost dogs home. We collect as little as we can to do that.
If you scan a tag or report finding a dog
You never need an account. When you open a tag page we record the time and an approximate location (city level, worked out from your internet connection) so the dog's owner knows their tag was used.
If you send a message, we pass on what you type: your message, and your name and phone or email if you give them. If you tap "Share my location", we also send your precise location. We never ask for your location unless you tap that button.
We keep your IP address and any precise location for no more than 30 days, to prevent abuse. After that only the city-level location remains. The dog's owner sees your message and contact details so they can reach you.
If you're a dog owner
We store your email address, your dog's details and photo, the phone numbers you add, and the scans and messages your tags receive. Finders only see the fields you choose to show. Your email address and home address are never shown on a tag page.
You can delete your account at any time, which deletes your dogs, photos, scans and messages. We keep only the bare tag code so it can never be given to anyone else.
Cookies
We use two cookies, both only to make the site work. A session cookie keeps you signed in to your account. A second cookie tells this site you're signed in so the menu shows your pets; it holds no personal details. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
Who processes the data
Tag pages run on Cloudflare. Emails are sent through a transactional email provider. We don't sell data or use it for advertising.
